About

Trevor Thera is Director, Business Development at Clean Industrial Technologies inc., with responsibility for customer relationships, sales, marketing & communications.  Trevor also plays a lead role in new technology identification and assessments within the EDC Group of companies.   Prior to joining Clean Industrial Technologies, he worked as an applied research leader at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology as the Executive Director of the Centre for Oil Sands Sustainability.  Previous to that role Trevor worked with an internationally acclaimed water technology start up – Water Planet Inc. based in Los Angeles, CA as their in country executive for western Canada.    Mr. Thera also has developed a consulting practice that assists companies in bringing new technologies to market as well as aiding in the entry to new geographical markets.  Trevor has worked closely with several multinational enterprises (Hitachi, GE, Siemens, Lockheed Martin and others) to develop mutually beneficial partnerships in the innovation and new technology development arena.  In his previous roles he has obtained extensive international and policy experience serving in several executive positions within the Alberta Government in the ministries of Innovation and Science and Economic Development and Trade.  Previous to these roles, Trevor spent four years as Senior Director of Industrial Innovation for Alberta Ingenuity (Alberta’s Heritage Foundation for Science and Engineering Research), where he developed and directed major industrial and academic partnerships and other innovation programs promoting collaboration between the Academic and the Industrial communities that comprised over $100M in innovation programming annually.
